Today, I'm going
to talk about my idol who is well known all over the world. Yes !!! the
greatest football player “Cristiano Ronaldo”. I started admiring him since he
joined Manchester United in 2003. He displayed sensational performance
throughout his career at Manchester United and 2008 was the best year for him
in Manchester United. He played for top European clubs like Manchester United,
Real Madrid, Juventus. Currently he is 34 years old which is considered quite
old for a footballer. But, he is still performing very well at Juventus FC. Many football
legends stated that Cristiano Ronaldo is greatest player in the sports history.
Many said he is not naturally talented, but his hardwork and dedication to the
sports made him the greatest player in football history. This is the main reason
why I admire him the most. He puts extra effort in his career and always tries
to improve himself. He is also very punctual to training and spends more time
in training ground before and after training with team mates.
One of his
colleague Carlos Tevez has revealed the
differences between Cristiano and Lionel Messi and how both world-class players
approach training. Speaking to Argentinian media\ he lifted the lid
on Messi's preference to perfect his technique in training, while Ronaldo was
only interested in one thing.
He said:
"Lionel Messi, I never saw him in the gym I’ve never seen him train in the
stops or do technical exercises.
"It is all
natural to him, but on penalties he trained: first he did not take them and now
he shoots them all at the corner. In contrast,
Ronaldo was very keen to improve one aspect of his game in particular - so much
so he was always at the training ground.
"Cristiano
always stopped in the gym after training: for him it is an obsession and, being
the best in everything, he always arrived at work early," said Tevez.
"When the
training was set for 9 in the morning I arrived at 8 and he was already there.
"Even if I
arrived at 7.30 he was already there.
"I began to
ask myself, ‘How can I get rid of this guy?’ So one day I arrived at 6 but he
was already there! Sleepy, but he was there."
This shows the
determination of Cristiano Ronaldo to succeed in his career. Almost anybody who has played with Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken of his
dedication to the game of football. cristiano's former team mate Patrice Evra
is one of the players to do so. When the pair
were playing for Manchester United, the Portuguese winger invited his teammate
over for lunch after training with Evra.
"I would
give advice to anybody, when Cristiano invites you for lunch at his house, just
say no," he remarked on ITV's World Cup podcast.
"He said:
'Patrice, come over after training'. I went [and] you know I was really tired.
At the table there was only salad and plain chicken so I was like
'okay...', and water, not any juice.
"We started
eating and I was thinking some big meat would be coming after that but there
was nothing. He had just finished and he stood up and he started playing with a
ball, doing some skills and he said: 'Let's do some two touch'.
"I was like
'can I just finish eating?' [Ronaldo replied] 'No, no let's play two-touch'.
"We start
playing two touch. After that he said let's go to the pool to swim, I was like
'okay...' after going in the jacuzzi, the sauna, I'm done. I said: 'Cristiano
why have we come here, have we come here because we have a game tomorrow, or
just for lunch?'.
"So that's
why I would recommend to anyone when Cristiano invite you to his house, don't
go. Just say no because this guy, he's a machine, he doesn't want to stop
training."
In another
anecdote, Evra reveals how Rio Ferdinand's table tennis victory over Ronaldo
set off his determined streak to be the best in that sport as well.
"They were
playing table tennis and Rio beat [Ronaldo], and we were all screaming and he
was so upset," added the Frenchman.
"Then he
sent his cousin to buy a table tennis set, he trained for two weeks at home and
he came back and he beat Rio in front of everyone.
Cristiano Ronaldo is considered
the most professional player in football history for his work ethics by
football pundits and his colleagues. I hope I can be as successful as my idol
in my life. He has a lot of good qualities in him and people should take him as
a role model.
